Chief Matthew Colton Steps Down as Geneva Police Chief

Matthew Colton, who served as chief of the Geneva Police Department, has stepped down from his role. Colton had been placed on administrative leave with pay since January 5. The city spokesperson stated that Colton’s leave was related to a “personnel matter” and provided no additional comments. The city announced Colton’s resignation on Friday. Retired Chief Michael Passalacqua will fill in as interim chief while the city seeks a new permanent replacement for Colton.
