Subject: Tragic Accident Involving Toddler in Seneca County Driveway

A tragic incident occurred in Seneca County, where a toddler lost their life after being struck by a vehicle in a driveway. New York State Police responded to the accident on Aunkst Road in Fayette at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The authorities reported that the driver accidentally backed over the 18-month-old child, mistakenly thinking the child was safely inside the vehicle. Tragically, the child succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

While it is unlikely that criminal charges will be filed, the incident is currently under investigation by the New York State Police to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
