CNYSPCA’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ pet adoption event spans a week

CNYSPCA in Syracuse, New York, is hosting a week-long adoption event where individuals can find their perfect rescue pet, coinciding with the rare eclipse. The Total Eclipse of the Heart adoption event will run from April 1 to April 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, except for Sunday. According to CNYSPCA Director Troy Waffner, the event presents an ideal opportunity to adopt a new furry friend and spend the historic eclipse together. The shelter has a variety of cats, dogs, and guinea pigs available for adoption, with no appointment or application necessary to meet and interact with the animals. Upon opening each day, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler will be playing. CNYSPCA currently houses around 90 dogs, 70 cats, two guinea pigs, and two rabbits, with more animals expected to arrive. The shelter focuses on showcasing the animals for adoption to facilitate connections with potential adopters. By adopting a shelter animal, individuals not only gain a new companion but also save the lives of animals waiting for a chance to come in. The Total Eclipse of the Heart adoption event will be held at CNYSPCA’s location at 5878 East Molloy Road in Syracuse.
