Former Pop Warner youth football team board members under investigation by Syracuse Police

A youth football team, the Valley Stallions of Central New York Pop Warner, is under investigation for suspected financial misconduct by past board members. CNY Pop Warner President Danielle Thompson confirmed on Monday that they are temporarily overseeing the Valley Stallions while the investigation unfolds. The Syracuse Police Department is currently looking into the matter, with input from the District Attorney’s office. Thompson stated that CNY Pop Warner is collaborating with national and regional Pop Warner authorities to handle the situation cautiously, aiming to eventually transfer control back to a new board of directors. Parents and guardians are encouraged to engage in the process to ensure a successful 2024 season for the children involved. The situation is still developing.
