Gasoline prices slightly decrease in CNY.

In Syracuse, New York, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline stood at $3.50 on Monday, July 22, slightly dropping by two cents compared to the previous week and down from $3.59 a year ago. The New York State average price is currently at $3.62, one cent lower than last week and below the $3.69 average from a year ago.

AAA Western and Central New York (AAA WCNY) provided the following regional averages:
– Batavia: $3.54 (a decrease of 1 cent from last week)
– Buffalo: $3.60 (a decrease of 1 cent from last week)
– Elmira: $3.49 (a decrease of 1 cent from last week)
– Ithaca: $3.67 (no change from last week)
– Rochester: $3.63 (a decrease of 1 cent from last week)
– Rome: $3.67 (an increase of 1 cent from last week)
– Syracuse: $3.57 (a decrease of 1 cent from last week)
– Watertown: $3.64 (a decrease of 2 cents from last week)

The average price of regular gasoline has decreased nationwide and in New York compared to a year ago, with oil prices remaining stable at around the low $80s per barrel. Demand for fuel during the summer driving season has decreased slightly according to the latest Energy Information Administration (EIA) data, while gas supply has also seen a slight decline due to reduced production after Gulf Coast refineries recovered from Hurricane Beryl.

Diesel prices have remained relatively steady, with the national average price at $3.83, down three cents from the previous week, and the New York average at $4.23, down one cent from last week.
