Filming has begun for the independent feature film “Plainclothes” in Syracuse, NY, featuring actors Tom Blyth and Russell Tovey in lead roles. The movie, directed by Jamesville DeWitt graduate Carmen Emmi, follows the story of an undercover police officer who defies orders after falling in love with a target. Emmi expressed that the film is a tribute to Syracuse, and it was recognized in a prestigious screenplay competition.

Tom Blyth, known for his role in “The Hunger Games: A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” stars alongside Russell Tovey, who appeared in FX’s “American Horror Story: NYC.” Emmi, a USC graduate, directed his first full-length feature film with “Plainclothes,” which also features actors Amy Forsyth and Christian Cookie. Filming is expected to conclude by the end of March, with a release date yet to be announced.
