The Town of Salina in New York is honoring two fallen heroes, Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Michael Hoosock, who were tragically killed in an ambush in April. The town has dedicated its new community center to these heroes and it will be named the “Hoosock-Jensen Salina Community Center.” Salina Town Supervisor Nick Paro expressed that while nothing can bring back these men’s lives, it is an honor to commemorate their heroism and sacrifice through this dedication. Officer Michael Jensen, originally from New Hartford and a Le Moyne College graduate, and Lieutenant Michael Hoosock, also known as “Hootch” and a key member of the Moyers Corners Fire Department, are being remembered with this gesture. Lieutenant Hoosock leaves behind three young children. The families of these officers were present during the unveiling of this dedication, and Supervisor Paro highlighted the community’s gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
