Reducing lanes on sections of I-690 and I-481 scheduled to end week’s work.

The NYS Department of Transportation has issued two separate traffic alerts for the Syracuse area regarding road work on I-690 and I-481 on August 1-2. The planned road work on I-690 between Exit 11 (West Street) and Exit 10 (N Geddes Street) will result in lane reduction to one lane on the westbound side from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday for bridge inspections related to the I-81 Viaduct Project. Additionally, road work on I-481 between the Northern Boulevard on-ramp and Exit 7 (Bridgeport) on the southbound side will also reduce traffic to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the same days for bridge deck and joint repairs. Please note that construction activities are weather-dependent and may change based on conditions. Motorists are urged to exercise caution while driving through the work zone and adhere to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
