Sodus school resource officer and staff member harmed by two women

Two women in Wayne County are facing charges after causing a disturbance at a school. Amy Stephens, 40, from Sodus, and Denise Bardin, 58, from Wolcott, refused to leave Sodus Intermediate School and became combative when asked to do so by a school resource officer. The women struck the officer and resisted arrest, causing minor injuries to the officer and a school staff member. A juvenile present during the incident was unharmed. Stephens is facing charges of assault, resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal trespass, while Bardin is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal trespass, obstructing governmental administration, and harassment. Stephens was taken to Wayne County Jail for processing and arraignment, while Bardin was released on appearance tickets.
