In Syracuse, New York, three teenagers were arraigned on Tuesday, charged with the murder of a friend who was shot while they were aiming at another person. The three suspects, Quinntone Moore, Uzziah Murray, and Torrin Brown, all 16 years old, have been charged as adults for shooting 15-year-old Deron McGee Jr. in the head on August 12. They face multiple charges, including second-degree felony murder.

According to police, on August 12, Moore, Murray, and Brown were in a car with McGee when he was shot in the head by one of them while they were attempting a drive-by shooting on Westmoreland Avenue. Court documents revealed that the teenagers were in a stolen Hyundai Sonata, and during the incident, McGee, who was sitting in the back seat, was unintentionally hit by gunfire directed at pedestrians outside the Parkside Commons Apartment Complex.

District Attorney Robert Moran stated that the pedestrians were not armed and did not retaliate, and that McGee, who was friends with the shooters but did not have a weapon, was struck once in the head. McGee was later dropped off at Upstate Hospital by a private vehicle and succumbed to his injuries nine days after the shooting.

The suspects are scheduled to return to court on December 3 for further proceedings.
