The United Way of the Mohawk Valley has established a fund to assist families in Oneida County affected by recent severe weather. The City of Rome and the Village of Canastota were hit by destructive tornadoes, causing extensive damage and tragic loss of life, including an 82-year-old man from Canastota.

Donations made to this fund will directly aid families in need during the crucial rebuilding phase. The United Way is collaborating with the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley to ensure that every contribution goes towards those facing the most urgent requirements.

Your donations will have a direct impact on individuals requiring immediate assistance, who cannot afford to wait for potential FEMA aid to reconstruct and recover in their communities. Every donation, regardless of its size, will play a significant role in meeting their unaddressed needs in the short term.

At present, according to emergency management departments, cash and gift cards are the most needed items compared to clothing, food, and other supplies.
