Utica man receives over 10 years in prison for drug and firearm possession

UTICA, N.Y. — A man from Utica has been sentenced to 130 months in federal prison for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm. Carlos Pena Uceta, 24, confessed to possessing over five kilograms of cocaine purchased in New York City and transporting it to the Northern District of New York. He also admitted to owning a 9mm ghost gun found in a suitcase in his apartment. Upon serving his prison sentence, Pena Uceta will be subject to a 4-year term of supervised release. The DEA conducted the investigation in collaboration with the New York State Police, Utica Police Department, and Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
