Young teen in critical condition after being struck by pickup truck on Route 31

In Cicero, New York, a 13-year-old boy is currently in critical condition at Upstate Hospital after being hit by a pickup truck on Sunday, August 4. The incident took place at around 5:38 p.m. on State Route 31, where State Police responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

According to the preliminary investigation, Evan J. Wilson, a 13-year-old from Cicero, NY, was walking on the roadside when he unexpectedly entered the lane of traffic and was struck by a 2019 black GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by a 63-year-old man from Cicero.

Wilson was rushed to Upstate Hospital in critical condition, with State Police being supported at the scene by the Cicero Fire Department, NAVAC ambulance, and Cicero Police Department. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
